Mental Health Program
KFAM provides therapy to individuals with personal conflicts, relationship problems, and other life challenges such as:
depression, anxiety, grief or loss, trauma, marital conflicts, parent-child conflicts, anger, and acculturation stresses. 
KFAM offers individual therapy, group sessions, psychiatric evaluation and medication support.
Services are offered in Korean or English through KFAM's bilingual/bicultural therapists, psychiatrists, psychologists and case manager.

About Mental Health
Who should join?
Clients include adults and children, adolescents, and families in Los Angeles County and nearby areas.
Who are the Counselors?
KFAM employs highly-trained, bilingual/bicultural Korean licensed or registered therapists, psychiatrists, and interns. Counseling services are private and confidential
When?
Services are available during regular business hours of Monday – Friday, 9 am – 5:30 pm and on some weekday evenings. Appointments required, no walk-ins.

Fees: Counseling services are free for those who qualify for our government-funded services. For those who are unable or unwilling to enroll in government-funded programs such as Medi-Cal, KFAM has an income-based sliding scale or pro bono (free) services for those who meet eligibility requirements. Services are available to all, regardless of immigration status, insurance coverage, etc.

Prevention and Early Intervention Services (PEI)
Prevention and Early Intervention (Seeking Safety and Stepped Care Services) focuses on prevention and early intervention services, education, and outreach to help inform and support individuals who may have undergone a traumatic event and/or are experiencing a mental health issue. PEI also provides support with housing services, individual/family counseling, collateral, targeted case management, and rehabilitation services. 
Who can join? Individuals who hold MediCal insurance (or no insurance) and have undergone a traumatic event or crisis. "Seeking Safety Program" is for clients 13 years and older. "Stepped Care" Program is open to all ages.
Who are the Counselors? Our highly-trained counselors are bilingual and bi-cultural. They consist of licensed or registered therapists, psychiatrists, psychologists, and interns. Counseling services are private and confidential.

Outpatient Care Services (OCS-ISM)
Outpatient Care Services (OCS-ISM) at KFAM provides medication support, housing services, outreach and engagement screenings and assessments, individual/family counseling, collateral, targeted case management, and rehabilitation services to help and support individuals and their families who are experiencing a mental health issue.
Who can join? Clients (ages 26+) in Los Angeles who are experiencing primary mental health conditions, substance abuse and/or physical health issues, currently have MediCal or do not have insurance, and have limited access to services due to language and culture.
Who are the Counselors? Our highly-trained counselors are bilingual and bi-cultural. They consist of licensed or registered therapists, psychiatrists, psychologists, and interns. Counseling services are private and confidential.

Child Abuse Prevention, Intervention and Treatment (CAPIT)
This program provides clinical counseling and case management for children (ages 0-18) to prevent and treat child abuse and/or neglect. KFAM also provides family counseling and parenting education for the parents of the child.
Who can join? Children under 18 years of age and a family member or caregiver who resides in the Los Angeles area.
Who are the Counselors? Our highly-trained counselors are bilingual and bi-cultural. They consist of licensed or registered therapists, psychiatrists, psychologists, and interns. Counseling services are private and confidential.
When? Please make an appointment.

Group Services
KFAM offers group programs that focus on overcoming personal challenges in a supportive group setting. These services include regular workshops, seminars, and outreach on stress and anger management, individual parenting and anger management, substance abuse prevention for teens and parents, healing seminars for parents, pre-marital counseling, Triple P parenting, a radio show, and more.
