Charles Yoo, Chair
Mr. Charles Yoo is the Technology Engineer at Capital Group Companies, Inc. He was born in Singapore and grew up in Vancouver, Canada. Mr. Yoo attended the University of Texas-Pan American on a golf scholarship and graduated with an International Business degree. He and his wife, Mi Kyong, are licensed foster parents, and have recently adopted. He is a graduate of The Riordan Leadership Institute Program and has served as a Board Intern at Orangewood Children’s Foundation. His long term goal is to help adoption and foster nonprofit organizations, to help develop a strategic plan and direction.
Eugene Kim, M.D., Vice-Chair
Dr. Eugene Kim is a double board-certified plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills. He currently serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor in Plastic Surgery at the University of California, Irvine. Dr. Kim obtained his undergraduate degree at Dartmouth College and his medical degree at New Jersey Medical School. He completed his surgical residency and fellowship at New Jersey Medical School and his plastic surgery fellowship at University of California, Irvine.
Lisa Yang, Secretary
Ms. Lisa Yang is a Partner at Lim Nexus, where she practices business litigation. Ms. Yang has served as the President of the Korean American Bar Association of Southern California, former board member of the Center for the Pacific American Family, and past president and chair of the International Association of Korean Lawyers, Overseas Chapter. She received her undergraduate degree from Occidental College and her law degree from University of San Diego School of Law.
Elisa Lee, CPA, Treasurer
Ms. Elisa Lee has been the Director of JC & Associates since 2013. She also works as a full-time lecturer at California State University of Fullerton. Ms. Lee worked previously at KPMG and is a certified CPA. She completed her master’s in accounting at University of Massachusetts Amherst and her bachelor’s at USC.
Alix Nam, Member
Alix Nam has over two decades of experience in the Korean American banking industry. Ms. Nam is an industry professional and subject matter expert in the Bank Secrecy Act; which specializes in combating all aspects of money laundering activities and financial crimes. She is currently the Senior Vice President & BSA Officer at PCB Bank and a member of the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (ACAMS). Ms. Nam graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology, Law, & Society.
Anthony Kim, Member
Anthony Kim has more than 24 years of experience within the field of Commercial and Retail Banking and his expertise is a well-recognized among the executives of Korean American banking industry. Currently, Anthony is the Executive Vice President and Banking Officer at Hanmi Bank. Prior to this position, he served as Senior Vice President and District Manager, District I/CLC I at BBCN Bank. Anthony received his Master's degree at the Pacific Coast Banking School (PCBS) and his bachelor's degree at California State University.
Brian Choi, Member
Mr. Brian Choi is the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Centerstone SBA Lending. Prior to this position, he advised a broad range of companies including private equity, strategic buyers and sellers, and lenders through multiple platforms such as restructuring, turnaround and crisis management, and financial and transactional advisory (buy and sell-side). He received his Bachelor of Arts in Business Economics with emphasis in Accounting from UCLA.
David Kim, Member
Dr. David Kim is a board-certified plastic surgeon located in Beverly Hills. He is the founder and president of Beverly Hills Plastic Surgery, Inc. The company was founded in 1999 and specializes in all forms of cosmetic plastic surgery. Dr. Kim is originally from Chicago and obtained his undergraduate degree at the University of Illinois at Champaign –Urbana, and medical degree at the University of Illinois at Chicago. His surgery residency was at Mt. Sinai in Chicago and plastic surgery residency at Montefiore Medical Center in New York.
Henry Hosung Byun, Member
Henry Hosung Byun is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Professional who is dedicated to helping his clients reach their financial goals. He brings industry experience from the healthcare, medical device, and investment management fields. Currently, Henry is a senior portfolio advisor at Merrill Lynch in Westlake Village providing financial planning and wealth management services to executives, families, and businesses. When possible, he also volunteers his time as a council member of LEAD (Leadership, Education, Advocacy, and Development) for Women of Ventura County at Bank of America. Henry was born in Seoul, raised in Toronto, and now lives in Ventura County with his family and bulldog. Henry is a graduate of Boston College (MBA) and McGill University (B.S.).
Jay Park, Member
Jay Park is a founding principal at JPark Architects; he has more than 25 years of experience in various project types and specializes in commercial, hospitality and affordable multi-unit housing projects. In his early career, Jay previously worked for Frank Gehry and was involved in Disney Concert Hall in downtown LA and other high profiled cultural projects. Since then, he completed numerous commercial projects in Korea, China & Russia. Since founding his own practice in 2016, he has been working on numerous TOC and Density Bonus multi-unit projects in Koreatown area as well as having designed high profile hotel brands in Southern California. Jay is married to Diane Park, an interior designer, and a board member of Spectrum of Hope, a non-profit organization helping families with children on the autism spectrum. He received his master’s in architecture at Columbia University and bachelor’s in architecture at USC.
Jina Park, Member
Ms. Jina Park is an accomplished senior executive, entrepreneur, and philanthropist with over 12 years of experience in fundraising, branding, strategic partnerships, marketing, and product development. She is the founder of PLUSH LLC, a juvenile industry trade show and online platform that modernized the industry's B2B and B2C model, and quickly became an international brand. She and her husband serve on the board at Generosity.org, and have built water wells in places like Ghana, Ethiopia, and Haiti. Ms. Jina graduated cum laude and obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from UCLA with emphasis on Communications Studies.
Kenneth Seung, Member
As President of JR&K Properties LLC, Kenneth leads all real estate development, management and new acquisitions for the company. Founded in 1989, JR&K is a real estate development & management company focused on multifamily properties in Southern California. During his tenure at the company, he was integral in the acquisition and turn-around of several distressed multifamily assets, and also oversaw the development and management of a 300-bed- on-campus student housing facility for the University of California, Riverside. In 2002, he helped establish the University of California Riverside Seung Family Scholarship, providing thirty underprivileged students each year, to spend a semester abroad internationally. Kenneth has served as a board member of LIFT-Los Angeles since 2018. Kenneth holds a Bachelor of Science degree in finance and accounting from Tulane University and is a homegrown Angeleno.
Linda Kwak, Member
Linda Kwak is the AGC, Labor & Employment at Rivian Automotive, an electric vehicle company. Her legal practice, which began at global law firms and has included being in-house at tech companies and a hospital system, has been focused on employment law and litigation. Her pro bono work has centered on domestic violence issues, as well as children's rights. She received her undergraduate degree from Wellesley College (Economics and German Studies) and her law degree from Columbia University.
Regina Yoon, Member
Regina Yoon is an Associate Partner at Adam Consultants. She is also a founding member of Young Yeol (Yeol Korea) and Friends of Yeol in Los Angeles. Ms. Yoon received her JD from Fordham Law School and a BA from Wellesley College.
Yun Kim, Ed.D., Member
Ms. Yun Kim is CEO of Emperor’s College of Traditional Oriental Medicine. Founded in 1983, it is one of the oldest and most distinguished schools of acupuncture in the United States. She received her Doctorate Of Education in Educational Leadership at USC.
