Private Adoption
(aka Domestic and/or Infant Adoption)
Prospective parents choose this path if they desire to parent a child from birth and do not want the possibility of having a child, they parented for an unlimited amount of time be reunified with birth family. There is a substantial fee for private adoption and there is no financial assistance once a child is adopted. You can adopt through private adoption regardless of your age, marital status, sexual orientation, or gender identity. Some families pursue both the private adoption and fost-adopt paths to increase their chances.

While AFFI counsels birth mothers on an adoption plan and works with several adoption attorneys, facilitators, local hospitals, and maternity clinics, AFFI does NOT provide active birth mom seeking or matching services for adoptive parents. AFFI only works with birth parents who request our services.
