Launched Project Sori, a Sexual Assault project, using the #MeToo Movement. Kicked off DV Housing First, a homeless prevention and long-term empowerment project to help domestic violence survivors secure permanent housing. Strengthened domestic violence workforce development and entrepreneurship program, including launch of candle-making business for survivors. Expanded the Asian American Foster Family Initiative into the Korean, Chinese and Filipino communities in Los Angeles and Orange Counties.

Graduated 62 Faith Leaders to become better first responders in the KA Community.Awarded over $100,000 in educational scholarships through Hanmi Bank's Foundation. Filled 303 backpacks with age-appropriate supplies to be delivered to AFFI Foster children and provided 681 individuals training on how to become a resource (foster) parent. 

Graduated the first 40-hour DV state certification training class specifically for Korean clergy in Southern California. We had a class for 8 Korean seminary students and another class for 18 clergy. Also, KFAM becomes the first and only licensed Foster Family Agency (FFA) in the US, specializing in the needs of API foster children and recruiting culturally responsive foster families.

KFAM conducted the first and only foster parent training course (36-hour, 6-week class called PS-MAPP) conducted in Korean in US history. KFAM had the first all-Korean graduating class of 16 Korean American parents (9 families) who became licensed foster parents. KFAM conducted the first backpack drive (350 backpacks) and holiday gift drive (150 presents) targeted towards Asian Pacific Islander foster kids in LA County.

KFAM held its first and only Korean Mental Health Screening Day in LA County, a community event for Korean Americans to learn more about mental health, receive screening, and meet with Korean speaking mental health clinicians.

KFAM formed Life Beyond, the only Korean-language DV survivor support group in LA County.

KFAM launched the first and only child supervised visitation program in Southern California with Korean speaking monitors.

KFAM launched the first 52-week domestic violence batterers’ treatment program offered to Korean Americans in LA County.

KFAM becomes the first and only Korean specific agency in LA County dedicated to serving Korean Domestic Violence victims.
