COMMUNITY RELATIONS MANAGER

Job Description:

Korean American Family Services (KFAM) is a non-profit organization specializing in gender-based violence, mental health, and social services to Korean immigrant families. KFAM is seeking a Community Relations Manager to work under the supervision of the Executive Director. This individual is responsible for organizing and executing outreach events, media relations, and volunteer/donor management. Position requires some evening and weekend hours.

Requirements

JOB RESPONSIBLITIES:

1. Community Outreach & Events

• Develop and implement a strategic outreach plan focused on community engagement and partnerships

• Plans, organizes, and facilitates community meetings, coalitions, and public events to strengthen engagement and collaboration. (especially 1st and 1.5 immigrant generation)

• Coordinate events with community partners (camps, programs, hikes and seminars)

• Create flyers, posters, and digital outreach materials

• Coordinate speakers, venues, and logistics for KFAM events

• Represent KFAM at community meetings, coalitions, and public events


2. Media & Communications

• Manage media relations with Korean, API, and English-language outlets

• Draft press releases, coordinate media coverage, and manage publicity and advertising contracts

• Create KFAM newsletters, social media, and printed materials

• Support all departments by creating brochures, toolkits, and promotional materials as needed


3. Department & Program Support

• Coordinate monthly outreach planning meetings with other departments

• Provide logistical and outreach support for department-led events


4. Volunteer Engagement

• Recruit, manage, and support volunteers

• Oversee the Leadership Service Award program


5. Other outreach and communications duties as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS:

• Fluent in Korean and English (speaking, reading, and writing required)

• 3+ years of experience in community outreach, nonprofits, media, counseling, or related fields

• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills

• Computer proficiency and experience with social media, media relations, and design tools (Canva a plus)

• Self-starter able to work independently and manage multiple projects

• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally


BENEFITS: Annual Salary $55,000 - $65,000. Generous benefits.
